Kholee Blast is pleased to announce that YH Auto Ltd., a Korean manufacturer of automotive coil springs and leaf springs, has placed a 20-ton order for our HD carbon steel Cut Wire Shots following extensive sample testing and pre-shipment quality verification.
After comparing products from several Chinese suppliers with the cut wire shots previously used from Toyo Seiko, YH Auto confirmed that Kholee's HD carbon steel cut wire shots provide the durability and shot peening performance required for automotive spring manufacturing.
Following the successful pre-shipment inspection in September 2026, YH Auto has also expressed its intention to establish a long-term purchasing relationship with Kholee.
YH Auto has been using carbon steel cut wire shots from Japan for its automotive spring shot peening process. The customer recognized the stable quality and performance of the Japanese product, but its relatively high price encouraged YH Auto to investigate alternative suppliers offering a better balance between quality and cost.
At the beginning of 2026, YH Auto started evaluating alternative carbon steel cut wire shot suppliers.
In February 2026, YH Auto contacted Kholee regarding carbon steel cut wire shots for spring shot peening. Based on the customer's application requirements, Kholee initially offered a high-durability carbon steel cut wire shot solution.
Although the proposed product was designed for demanding shot peening applications, YH Auto considered the quotation significantly higher than offers from other Chinese suppliers.
Rather than making a decision based only on price, YH Auto conducted practical testing of alternative products.
From March to May 2026, YH Auto tested carbon steel cut wire shots obtained from several Chinese suppliers.
These suppliers also claimed that their products were suitable for shot peening and offered good quality at substantially lower prices.
However, after actual production testing, YH Auto found that the performance of these lower-priced products did not meet the requirements of automotive spring shot peening.
In particular, the tested products could not provide the same level of durability and consistent performance as the Toyo Seiko cut wire shots previously used by YH Auto.
This practical testing demonstrated an important point for automotive spring manufacturers:

The customer requested HD carbon steel cut wire shot samples in 0.6 mm and 1.0 mm for detailed testing.
Kholee supplied the requested samples for YH Auto's evaluation.
The customer then conducted its own testing under actual automotive spring shot peening conditions.
The results were highly encouraging.
After testing the Kholee HD cut wire shots, YH Auto confirmed that their performance was comparable to the Toyo Seiko cut wire shots used previously.
This was a critical milestone because the objective was not simply to provide a cheaper abrasive, but to provide a cost-effective alternative without sacrificing shot peening performance.
YH Auto's testing established a clear difference between the various products evaluated during the project.
The low-priced alternatives tested from other Chinese suppliers offered an attractive initial purchase price, but their actual performance did not satisfy YH Auto's requirements for automotive spring shot peening.
Kholee's HD carbon steel cut wire shots, on the other hand, achieved the required performance level while offering a lower purchase cost than the Japanese product.
At the same time, Kholee's HD cut wire shots are positioned as a premium, high-durability product, rather than a lowest-price Chinese alternative.
This means the product price is higher than many standard Chinese cut wire shots, but the customer gains improved durability and more consistent shot peening performance.
For applications such as coil spring and leaf spring shot peening, this quality-versus-price balance can be more important than the initial price per kilogram.
After completing the sample testing and confirming the performance of Kholee HD carbon steel cut wire shots, YH Auto placed its first commercial order in August 2026.
The 20-ton order represents an important transition from laboratory/sample evaluation to commercial production supply.
At the beginning of September 2026, representatives from YH Auto visited Kholee for pre-shipment testing and product inspection.
During the visit, the customer checked the HD carbon steel cut wire shots before shipment and reviewed the product quality with the Kholee team.
Following the inspection and testing, YH Auto expressed strong satisfaction with the product quality.
The successful pre-shipment inspection further strengthened the customer's confidence in Kholee's manufacturing and quality-control capabilities.
YH Auto subsequently indicated its intention to develop long-term purchasing cooperation with Kholee for automotive spring shot peening media.
The YH Auto project demonstrates that choosing shot peening media for automotive springs requires more than comparing quotations.
