Portable Shot Blaster
Movable Shot Blasting Machine for Concrete Floor and Steel Plate Surface Preparation
The Kholee Blast Portable Shot Blaster is a compact and movable surface preparation machine designed for concrete floors, roads, bridge decks, steel plates, steel bridges, tanks, ship decks and other suitable horizontal surfaces.
Using a high-speed centrifugal blast wheel, the portable shot blaster projects recyclable Steel Shot onto the working surface. The impact removes surface contaminants, concrete laitance, rust, old paint and other unwanted materials while creating a controlled surface profile for subsequent coating, waterproofing or repair.
An integrated abrasive recovery, separation and dust collection system collects used steel shot and surface debris. Reusable steel shot is separated and returned to the storage hopper for recycling, while dust and fine contaminants are transported to the dust collector.
With its portable design, abrasive recycling system and integrated dust collection, the machine is particularly suitable for construction, maintenance and surface preparation projects where the equipment needs to be moved between different working areas.

What Is a Portable Shot Blaster?
A portable shot blaster is a movable surface preparation machine that uses steel shot and centrifugal blasting technology to clean and profile large surfaces.
Unlike fixed shot blasting machines installed in production lines, portable shot blasters can be transported to the work area and operated directly on suitable surfaces.
The machine typically integrates: centrifugal blast wheel, abrasive recovery system, separator, dust collector, air compressor, mobile drive system and electrical control system into one compact machine
This configuration is particularly suitable for surface preparation of concrete floor, road steel deck and tank floor.
Key Features of Portable Shot Blaster
1 Portable & Mobile Design
The compact design allows the shot blaster to be transported directly to different work areas.
It is particularly suitable for applications where large workpieces or fixed structures cannot be transported to a conventional automatic shot blasting machine.
Typical projects include:
● Bridge decks ● Concrete floors ● Steel bridge plates ● Ship decks ● Large steel plates ● Industrial floors ● Road surfaces ● Maintenance projects
2 Centrifugal Wheel Blasting
Unlike conventional compressed air abrasive blasting, the machine uses a mechanical blast wheel to accelerate steel shot. The blast wheel provides a controlled blasting pattern and high abrasive recycling efficiency for surface preparation.
3 Closed-Circuit Abrasive Recycling
The mixture of steel shot, dust and removed material is recovered after blasting.
A separator separates reusable steel shot from dust and debris, allowing qualified abrasive to return to the blasting cycle.
This reduces abrasive consumption and makes the process suitable for controlled industrial surface preparation.
4. Dust Collection System
The portable shot blaster works together with a dust collection system to capture dust and fine contaminants generated during surface preparation.
The closed blasting system helps keep the working area cleaner and reduces airborne dust compared with open abrasive blasting.
Industry products commonly combine movable blasting, abrasive recovery and dust extraction for concrete and steel surface preparation.
5. Uniform Surface Profile
By controlling: ● Steel shot size ● Steel shot hardness ● Abrasive flow ● Blast wheel speed ● Machine travel speed,
the blasting intensity can be adjusted to achieve the required surface preparation effect.
This is important when preparing a surface for epoxy, polyurethane, waterproofing or anti-corrosion coatings.
How Does a Portable Shot Blaster Work?
The machine uses a centrifugal blast wheel to accelerate steel shot onto the surface.
Working Process
Steel Shot → Blast Wheel → Surface Impact → Abrasive Recovery → Separation → Shot Recycling
1. Steel shot enters the blast wheel.
2. The wheel accelerates the abrasive to high velocity.
3. Steel shot impacts the concrete or steel surface.
4. Rust, coating, laitance, mill scale and contaminants are removed.
5. Used abrasive and debris are recovered.
6. The separator separates reusable steel shot from dust and debris.
7. Clean steel shot is returned to the abrasive hopper.
8. Dust and fine particles are transferred to the dust collector.
This closed circuit system allows the abrasive to be continuously recycled while controlling dust generated during blasting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can a portable shot blaster be used on concrete floors?
A1: Yes. It is commonly used for concrete floor preparation, including removing laitance, old coatings and surface contaminants and creating a textured profile before coating or repair.
Q2: Can it remove rust from steel plates?
A2: Yes. Steel shot blasting can remove rust, mill scale, oxide and other contaminants from steel plates and prepare the surface for primer and protective coating.
Q3: Can it achieve Sa 2.5?
A3: Yes, a suitable portable shot blasting configuration can be used for steel surface preparation targeting Sa 2.5. The actual result depends on the steel condition, abrasive, blasting intensity, travel speed and project requirements.
Q4: Is portable shot blasting dust-free?
